Level 2 Award in Food Safety

Course Aims
The aim of this course is to allow the student to gain a nationally recognised qualification to refresh their Food Safety at level 2.

Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

· Understand the importance of food safety
· Understand how micro-organisms pose a hazard to food safety
· Understand the main reasons for food poisoning
· Understand the concept of food hazards caused by contamination
· Understand how food safety procedures prevents foodborne illness and contamination of food
· Understand the importance of keeping themselves clean and hygienic
· Explain their role in reducing risks of food contamination from premises and equipment
· Understand the need for food businesses to control pests
· Understand the importance of effective cleaning and disinfection
· Understand the needs for food safety enforcement

Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety

By the end of this course, the student will be able to:

• The Role of the Manager
• Food Safety Legislation and Enforcement.

This course will cover the following topics:
